Can you use Clear Gear on porous surfaces?

Yes! Clear Gear is safe and effective on porous surfaces. It can be used on fabric, foam, mesh, leather, and other surfaces your gear is made of, making it suitable for jerseys, pads, gloves, bags, and more. Simply spray, let it sit, and you're good to go.

How Do You Get the Smell Out of Sports Equipment?

Odor in sports gear is caused by bacteria, not just sweat. Clear Gear kills the bacteria causing the odor at the source rather than simply masking the smell. Spray, let it sit for 10 minutes, then wipe or air dry.

Is Bleach Safe to Use on Sports Gear?

No. Bleach can damage foam padding, degrade fabric, and leave a harsh residue that may irritate skin. Clear Gear is bleach-free and alcohol-free and is designed for use on gear surfaces including helmets, pads, bags, and mats.

How Often Should You Disinfect Sports Equipment?

Sports equipment should be disinfected after every use. Bacteria can multiply quickly on warm, damp surfaces. Spraying gear after practice and allowing it to remain wet for the required contact time helps reduce bacteria and other microorganisms.

Can You Get MRSA From Sports Equipment?

Yes. MRSA, staph, ringworm, and other infections can spread through shared sports gear, locker rooms, and training surfaces. Using an appropriate EPA-registered disinfectant according to its label directions can help reduce the spread of microorganisms.

Is Clear Gear Safe for Kids and Youth Athletes?

Clear Gear is bleach-free and alcohol-free and is designed for use on youth sports gear. Always follow the product label directions and safety instructions when using disinfectants around children.
